Steve is leaving the SF Center for the Book. He's been the artistic director ever since the Center was founded. He's leaving to be head honcho at Columbia Center for Book and Paper Art. On Wed. I went to his goodbye party. And there were a lot of people there! A testament to how much he'll be missed.
We had a long conversation about the new job at the Steamroller. And it seems like it's a good fit. It's part of Columbia College, so there's a lot of college art students who take classes there. JAB (of which I still need to get a subscription!) is published out of there. And there's a bunch of important people to the book arts commmunity teaching at the college.
Best of luck, Steve! I'll miss you a ton. I hope the winters don't get you down.
